Oakcrest Community Pool is an outdoor swim club for families to enjoy! The facility includes a 25 meter- 6 lane pool, spiral tube slide, playground, kiddie pool, bathrooms with showers, upper and lower pavilion, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, and much more! 
This facility offer various types of memberships, daily guest passes, private swim lessons, camp and party rentals. Oakcrest Community Pool is situated on 14 acres in Edison.

*Guests must be 13 or older to attend alone, with parental consent, individuals under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their visit.

Oakcrest Weather Policy  

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, the following weather-related policies will be strictly enforced:

Electrical Storm Guidelines

  • At the first sound of thunder or a visible lightning flash, the pool will be immediately cleared for at least 30 minutes. Time and duration are determined by the last visual or audible sign of electrical storm.
  • All patrons must move to their vehicles for safety. Those who arrived by public transportation will be directed to the upper pavilion for shelter.
  • If the storm is expected to impact the area for an extended period, the facility may close for the remainder of the day at the discretion of management.

Temperature Guidelines

  • The pool will not open if the forecasted air temperature is not expected to rise above 65°F by 12:00 PM.
  • Rentals, swim lessons, and camp swims are exempt from cold weather closures.
  • If the temperature is below 70°F and attendance is low, the pool may close at the manager’s discretion.

General Weather Closures

The pool may close due to severe weather conditions, including:

  • High winds
  • Tornado watches or warnings
  • Heavy rainfall that reduces visibility and safety

Late-Day Closures

  • If a weather-related closure occurs after 6:00 PM, the facility will remain closed for the rest of the day.

Guest Passes

  • Daily guest passes are non-refundable, even in the case of weather-related closures.

Additional Safety Recommendations

Members and Guests are asked to consider these personal safety guidelines:

  • Heat Advisory Protocols: If temperatures exceed 95°F, encourage patrons to take frequent hydration breaks, use shaded areas, and monitor for signs of heat exhaustion.
  • UV Protection Guidelines: Recommend wearing sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, especially for young children and seniors.

 


General Swimming Rules

  • Lifeguards have final authority .
  • Swimming attire (bathing suits/swim trunks) is required in all of our pools. Athletic wear is not swim wear. No street clothes allowed in the pools. Click for more information on proper swim attire
  • Long hair must be tied back or a swim cap must be worn.
  • Members must rinse off before entering the pools (showers are available in the locker rooms)
  • Direct Adult Supervision is required for all swimmers under 12 years old regardless of swim level. 
  • ALL CHILDREN 6 YEARS OF AGE AND YOUNGER MUST HAVE AN ADULT IN THE WATER WITHIN ARMS REACH.  Children without an adult in the water will be denied entry to the pool.
  • Swimmers 12 and up may use the pool without an adult if they have passed the swim test with a green band.
  • During periods of high use, lifeguards will periodically perform safety checks to ensure the safety of all of our participants. All patrons will be asked the exit the pools. Lifejackets and bands will be checked.
  • All children under 15 years of age must be swim-tested and wear swim bands while in pools.  Swim test can be administered by a lifeguard.
  • Swimmers that have not passed the swim test must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

Lap Swimming & Water Walking/Exercise

  • Lap Swim is open to swimmers 12 years old and up.
  • Swimmers ages 12-15 must pass the Green Band swim test. 
  • Lanes for lap swimming and water walking/exercise are shared spaces.
  • Lap swimming time is to be used for lap swimming and water walking/exercise. Horseplay will not be allowed during lap swimming hours.
  • Children cannot be left unattended while parent is in the pool. 

Family Swim-Exercise Pool or Activity Pool

  • Safety Checks will be performed on the 30 minute mark of each hour during Family Swim during periods of high usage.
  • During Safety Checks every swimmer must exit the family swim pools regardless of age or ability.  Lifeguards will check for bands, lifejackets and adult supervision. 
  • Swimmers can re-enter once the lifeguards re-open the pool.
  • Pool(s) do have State mandated capacity limits. When we reach these numbers, lifeguard staff are required to refuse entry. 
  • Children cannot be left unattended in any pool; all children must have adult supervision.
  • ALL CHILDREN 6 YEARS OF AGE AND YOUNGER MUST HAVE AN ADULT IN THE WATER WITHIN ARMS REACH.
  • Please refrain from distractions, such as phone or books, while supervising children.
  • Activity Pool Section Only- All children under 42 inches tall must either pass a swim test with a green band or wear a life jacket.
