We’re excited to announce that the application process for summer employment is open!  The Y is looking for the “best of the best”,  those special counselors that can help mentor, coach and be a great role model to our campers to ensure they have the “Best Summer Ever”.  If you enjoy having fun during your work day, are creative, have boundless energy, and want to make a difference in your community and the youth in our communities then you belong working at the Y.  With a limited number of opportunities available for summer employment in our day camps and summer pool don’t wait to apply! 

Our day camps are located throughout Edison, Metuchen, South Amboy, Woodbridge and Piscataway, all offering a variety of fun, exciting opportunities for summer employment. Being a Y Day Camp Counselor offers a great opportunity to gain experience as a leader and a role model for your community.  A variety of opportunities await our applicants: camp counselors, specialty counselors (arts & craft, sports, STEM, robotic, science and more!), unit leaders. 

Our Oakcrest Swim Club offers summer aquatic opportunities for lifeguards, swim instructors, pool managers and grounds keeper.

Ys across the country are recognized as a great place to work and to develop leadership skills. We’ve often hear from past and current employees that having Y work experience has been extremely valuable to them, not only as part of their work history but as part of developing leadership skills (often looked at by colleges and when applying for graduate studies as a positive experience).
