The recipient of the Malinowski award for the Child Care Services YMCA is Azmavet Almonte. Azmavet, who likes to be called Mavet, is a SACC/Camp Counselor at the Colonia Y Learning Center. Mavet comes to work every day with a positive attitude and the children enjoy being around her because of her caring nature and her ability to make them laugh.
The recipient of the Malinowski award for the Metuchen YMCA is Gabrielle Bing. “Gabby” has been a part of the Y since she was six years old. She is a SACC/Camp Counselor at the Metuchen Y. She finds her job rewarding, fun and challenging. Gabby has proven to be a strong youth leader and an invaluable part of the Metuchen Branch YMCA.
Kathleen Sabo is the recipient of the Malinowski award at the South Amboy YMCA. Better known as “Kat”, she has worked in every youth department including camp, school-aged childcare and enrichment classes, sports programs and providing babysitting services to members. Kat brings new ideas to the Y. She is a valuable employee who fully embraces the core values of the YMCA!
Johna Sbailo is the recipient of the Malinowski award at the Edison YMCA. She has worked there for over two years. She began as a SACC Counselor and now works as a Program Coordinator for the Enrichment Programs. Johna has a positive attitude and strong work ethic and is a wonderful benefit to the staff and members of the Edison YMCA. She feels she can take a lot away from this job and continue to work happily at the Y.
