YMCA of MEWSA Performs Community Needs Assessment

APRIL 9, 2018:  The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy (MEWSA) is working with the national YMCA office, Y-USA, to conduct a community needs assessment within its service areas of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy.  The survey is being launched on April 9th and, based on the responses to this assessment, the Y will be designing and delivering new and enhanced programs and services at its three branches in Metuchen, Edison and South Amboy that address critical issues in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  “To design services focused on the needs and wants of the community, we need the community’s input”, said Paul Casey, Vice President of Operations and Branch Development.  “We are asking residents to complete the survey so that we may respond to our community’s most critical social needs and ensure that we are doing our very best to serve our communities.”

The survey can be found online at https://tinyurl.com/ymcacna.  Responses to the online survey are not individually tracked and are kept confidential. The assessment should take approximately five minutes to complete and the results will be compiled into an executive summary that will be shared with community partners.  In addition, for those who complete the survey, the YMCA of MEWSA is offering entry into a raffle to win a free 3-month membership.

“At the Y, strengthening the community is our cause”, said Rose Cushing, President & CEO of the YMCA of MEWSA.  “We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.”
