YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy to Open Day Camp June 21
Programming to keep kids exploring and learning all summer long
The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy will open its summer day camp for the season beginning June 21st.
Summer is the ideal time for kids to get up, get out and explore, and this is especially true this summer, following several months of quarantining, explains Rose Cushing, President & CEO. “The social, emotional and physical benefits camp provides are going to be more beneficial in 2021 than ever before, and we’re thrilled to be able to open and to help children get active and make connections with friends both old and new.” In addition to their traditional programming, this year the Y is offering academic support options to address learning loss that may have occurred during the 2020-2021 school year. Registration begins February 1st and there is an Early Bird Special for those families who register before March 1st.
While campers and parents can expect to see continued compliance with all safety guidelines provided by state and local health departments, the benefits of camp remain constant. “Safety has always been our top priority at YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy and while COVID-19 is unlike any other challenge we’ve faced, we’re confident that by following guidelines set forth by YMCA of the USA, American Camp Association, CDC and state and local authorities, we will be able to provide kids with a safe, beneficial and memorable experience like no other” said Cushing.
