YMCA of MEWSA Announces Leadership Transitions

As of September 18th, the YMCA of MEWSA is excited to announce that Kyle Strohman has become the Vice President of Operations.

Since May 2020, Strohman has served as the Executive Director of The YMCA at the Piscataway Community Center (YPCC). As leader of the YPCC, Strohman oversaw nearly 15,000 members and created a strong, lasting partnership with the Township of Piscataway.

“We couldn’t be more happy to welcome Kyle as the Vice President of Operations,” says YMCA of MEWSA President & CEO Rose Cushing. “His leadership at the YPCC moved the association forward significantly, and we look forward to him making an even larger impact within the association.”

Prior to joining the YMCA of MEWSA, Strohman developed a strong background in aquatics by serving as the Aquatics Director for the Pav YMCA and YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Most recently, he worked as the Executive Director/CEO at the Grant Family in Marion, Indiana.

At the YPCC, Senior Program Director Daniel Hontz has become the Branch Director of Operations. Hontz comes from a youth development background, previously serving as the Director of Youth Development at the Central Bucks County Family YMCA and as Environmental Education and Adventure Programming Director at the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington’s Camp Letts.

“Dan has created a huge impact at the YPCC by offering unique programming and working alongside the Township of Piscataway to meet our community’s needs,” says Vice President of Operations Kyle Strohman. “His new leadership position will only strengthen the YPCC and its impact within the community.”
