YMCA of MEWSA Announces Appointment of Amy Krysienski

The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy (MEWSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board member, Amy Krysienski.

Born and raised in Woodbridge Township, Amy has always had a passion to serve the community. Her first job at the age of 16 was at the Woodbridge YMCA, where she quickly developed a passion for the mission of the Y its core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. At the Y, she enrolled memberships, gave tours of the facility and volunteered at many local community events. She left the Y in 2013 after graduating from Montclair State University with a degree in Business Administration to begin a career in banking and developed an even stronger sense of philanthropy. Throughout her career, working for several community based financial institutions, this foundation has allowed her to develop strong relationships with many nonprofit organizations and has deepened her great appreciation for the nonprofit realm and the outstanding work that many of them do and stand for.

Amy currently works at Columbia Bank, managing the Nonprofit & Government Banking Division. She also serves as a Board Member for the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce and as the President of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge-Perth Amboy. She resides in West Long Branch and in her spare time enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She also spends much of her time volunteering for local nonprofits and giving back to the community.

“We are delighted to welcome a second dynamic new member to our Board this year” said John Dowd, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Rose Cushing, President & CEO, added that “Amy’s long commitment to the values and principles of the Y will be a wonderful addition to the Board, and we look forward to working with her in the coming year.” YMCA Board members are responsible for establishing policy and strategic direction for the Y, as well as creating opportunities and establishing relationships that advance the YMCA’s mission and cause.

The Board of the YMCA of MEWSA is currently comprised of twenty-six members with deep professional and community ties to Middlesex County.
