YMCA of MEWSA Recognizes Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center as a Strong Partner

The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, South Amboy, and the YMCA at the Piscataway Community Center are delighted to extend our appreciation to Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center for its outstanding partnership with the Y and the local community.

Working together for the health and well-being of the community is at the very heart of this partnership. Together, these two organizations are able to address an individual's entire health and wellness needs, from acute medical care to preventive healthcare, staying fit, and being part of a community.

Each year, hundreds of children and adults across our programs receive financial assistance to ensure they can fully participate within the YMCA. Thanks to the generosity of Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center, the YMCA can address these financial concerns to ensure that no one is left behind or turned away. With its support, the YMCA can increase awareness of health promotion and disease prevention, focusing on keeping people healthy. Additionally, its contributions ensure that health and wellness options are available to every family, along with cancer support services for all survivors through the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program. Its support significantly enhances overall community health.

President and CEO Rose Cushing expresses her gratitude, saying, "We cannot overstate our appreciation for Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center. Its contributions and unwavering support empower us to meet our community's needs, whether it's through our programming, membership options, financial assistance, and more."

These two organizations, working together for the health and well-being of the community, help to develop and enhance community access to care and initiate innovative health and wellness programs to care for the thousands of people we serve in our communities every year.

In addition to sponsoring our local events throughout the year, including the annual Golf Outing, LIVESTRONG® 5K, Annual Dinner, and Tot Trot, Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center goes beyond, actively engaging with the community through our members at our branches. Expert staff is available to our members at no cost for visits to our local YMCA branches, providing an array of free classes and seminars. Past offerings have included family CPR training, heart health presentations, blood pressure monitoring, and valuable tips on adopting a Mediterranean diet for a healthier lifestyle.
