Edison YMCA Launches Specialized After-School Care Program

The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, South Amboy, and the YMCA at the Community Center is excited to announce the launch of Specialized After-School Care at the Edison YMCA.

This offering will provide an inclusive, safe, enriching recreational program for school-age students in grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade. Following the Y’s mission, the program is designed to offer a unique experience while developing each participant’s mind, body and spirit.

The YMCA will work alongside families to best meet their child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) needs.

“In the YMCA’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, we are thrilled to launch this program,” says Edison Director of Operations Erin Siemers. “We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, regardless of their unique needs and abilities. This is a testament to our dedication to serving all members of our community while providing a fun and safe environment.”

Edison Childcare Director Jennifer Guthlein states “The Edison YMCA offers care for children from 6-weeks old to 5-years old, and we are excited to expand even further.”

Families interested in applying for the program and undergoing a family in-take session can email Jennifer Guthlein at jennifer.guthlein@ymcaofmewsa.org or by phone at 732-494-3232 ext. 3509.
