The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy (MEWSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Board members; Steven Cahn, Anthony Cuzzola, and Armando Faria.
Steven D. Cahn is a partner in the law firm of Cahn & Parra in Edison, New Jersey. After graduating from Rutgers College and the Delaware Law School of Widener University, he served as a Captain and Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. For the past thirty years, he has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. In addition to his employment law and personal injury practice, he presently serves as the attorney for the Middlesex County Planning Board. In addition to serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Possumtown Fire Company, he is the author of a recently published book about the baseball player Sidney Gordon (1917 –1975).
Anthony Cuzzola has served as the Vice President for Rehabilitation Services at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) in Edison since 2019, where he also serves as the Administrator of the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. Cuzzola has been a part of the HMH healthcare system for over thirty years, providing leadership in a variety of disciplines. Outside of his responsibilities at HMH, he has served on numerous professional boards throughout the region. His addition to the YMCA of MEWSA Board of Directors strengthens our community connections within healthcare systems.
Armando Faria is Vice President of Commercial Lending for Manasquan Bank and is based in Metuchen. He has been involved in banking since 1997, and for the past 16 years has been serving this area, first with Metuchen Savings Bank and then staying on after its merger with Manasquan Bank. During that time, he has served on the YMCA's Golf Committee by engaging sponsors, garnering community support, and helping organize the event. During the COVID shutdowns, he was a critical source of support for local businesses and organizations by assisting with loan forgiveness and other financial tools.
YMCA board members are responsible for establishing policy and strategic direction for the Y, as well as creating opportunities and establishing relationships that advance the YMCA's mission and cause. The Board of the YMCA of MEWSA is comprised of 23 members with strong professional and community ties to the communities we serve.
